Imagine a journey in which you stumble upon worn shards of an ancient tablet. These earrings have that feel. They are glazed front and back. The larger round Czech glass bead has a light iridescence.
I made these in my studio. Beginning with raw clay, the focal bead was formed, dried slowly, fired in a kiln to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, dipped in glaze, and then fired again to over 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
The glass beads were purchased, but I finished the wire wrapping and ear wires. The ear wires are made from antique brass metal wire. These artisan ear wires are 8 mm, or just over 3 inches, from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the drop. They weigh 6 grams each. As a reference, a nickel weighs 4 grams, and a quarter weighs 5 grams.
All items are one of a kind - each one is made uniquely for this shop, and is ready to ship! Orders are shipped within one business day and items are lovingly placed in an organza bag suitable for gift giving. I guarantee all of my products, period. As with all art jewelry, it should only be worn on occasion, never to bed or while showering.
