I'm Angela, and I'm the owner of Bleu Dog Beads. I started this business in 2011, initially making beads from polymer clay. In 2016 I got my first kiln and began making medium fire clay beads with stoneware and porcelain clay. I now create beads mostly with porcelain clay, as well as jewelry and small handmade clay objects, like trinket dishes and cups.
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from Albion College in 1992, and I have a Master's degree in art education as well as a doctorate in instructional design for online learning. Clay has been a passion since my first high school art class back in the 80s. I began my career as a teacher, and taught for 9 years in the Clark County School District here in Vegas, and 4 years in rural Kentucky.
I'm currently located in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada, though we have a small place in the Portland area where I recently bought a second kiln.
