This glaze is matte but soft and smooth. It would work well as a focal bead on a necklace, or as a bracelet bead. The blemishes that show on the back side in the photos (last image) aren't nearly as prominent in real life.

This ceramic focal bead was handmade in my studio. It was first formed from wet clay, carefully dried, fired, glazed, and then fired again to about ~2300 degrees F, or what we call medium fire or cone 6 in ceramic terms.

I photograph beads first from the "front," then with a coin, and then from the "back." Because all of my beads are glazed on all sides, I pay a small price for that - which is often in the form of a small blemish on what I consider the "back." That being said, these blemishes are extremely tiny - though they don't look so in the photos! I use a telephoto lens which magnifies their appearance.

I make every attempt to showcase the beads with accurate color. However, color can vary from device to device. All beads are photographed in daylight. If you are concerned about the weight, please review my finished product listings, which provide the weight in grams.

These beads will break with force! They are sturdy enough for daily wear, but they may break if dropped on a hard surface, and they may break if worn during strenuous activity or while sleeping in bed.
