Imagine a journey in which you stumble upon worn shards of an ancient tablet. These earrings have that feel. They are glazed front and back. The Czech glass bead is a deep red with some iridescence.
These handmade earrings were made by me in my Las Vegas studio. Beginning with raw clay, the focal bead was formed, dried slowly, fired in a kiln to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit, dipped in glaze, and then fired again to over 2300 degrees Fahrenheit.
The glass beads and were purchased, but I finished the wire wrapping and ear wires. The ear wires are made from antique brass copper. Need something hypoallergenic? I can easily switch these out, just ask! These artisan ear wires are 90 mm, or around 3.5 inches, from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the drop. They weigh 7 grams each. As a reference, a nickel weighs 4 grams, and a quarter weighs 5 grams.
All items are one of a kind - each one is made uniquely for this shop, and is ready to ship! As with all art jewelry, it should only be worn on occasion, never to bed or while showering.
